Purpose:  The evaluation version of the software is available as a free Internet download or on CD.  The software can be freely shared so potential owners can view the entire application to determine whether it meets their needs prior to purchasing it.

Overview:  The evaluation version of the software is the fully functional version without a serial number which limits its use to three uses.  The software will not go beyond the Startup Wizard more than three times unless a valid serial number is entered.

If you have not purchased the software and you want to evaluate it, press the 'FREE Preview' button on the first page.  If you have paid of the software press the 'Purchased' button.  The difference between the two buttons is that 'FREE Preview' provides options to purchase the software.

The next page contains a series of options.  You can preview the software, purchase it, request a serial number, and/or enter the serial number.

Preview (Option 1)

To preview the application press the first 'Yes' button.  The application won't move past the Startup Wizard after three evaluation uses unless a valid serial number is entered.  The option to preview the software disappears when the three trial uses are over.  During the evaluation the user has full access to all the features of the application.

Purchase (Option 2)

Once the value is apparent you can easily purchase the software.  You will either be presented with a web page so you can enter your credit card information or, if your computer is not connected to the Internet you will be given the information you need to contact the vendor.

Request Serial Number (Option 3)

After you have purchased the software you need to request a serial number.  Each time the application starts it checks for a valid serial number.  If there is no serial number and the three trial uses are finished, the application will not move past the Startup Wizard.

The application determines the serial number for the hard drive of the computer that it is being registered on.  Six digits of the hard drive serial number must be sent to the software developer in the form of an ID number to generate the final application serial number.

To request the serial number enter your name, organization, and email address.  You will also need to specify the maximum number of companies that you purchased a license for.

If your computer is connected to the Internet, just press the 'Send' button in the middle of the form to send your request for a serial number.  You may get a message like the one below.  If you do just press the 'Send' button to sent the email.

Your email provider must be MAPI compatible to send the email using this software.  Most email software is MAPI compatible but some, like AOL, are not.  If you are not sure whether your email software is MAPI compatible or you received an error when you tried to send the email, indicate that your computer is not connected to the Internet and all of the information needed for a serial number will be presented as well as detailed instructions on how to send it.

Enter Serial Number (Option 4)

After you have requested a serial number it may take several days before it arrives in an email.  One of the reasons for this it that the software vendor must report the purchase to the developer, Instructional Software, Inc.  Once the serial number is emailed to you, you need to enter it into the application.  The easiest way to do this accurately is to copy the serial number from the email and paste it onto the page.

Press the 'Process Serial Number' button and the Startup Wizard will no longer appear on start up.  The application will open to the Navigation Toolbar.
